KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Alyssa Gulli, Alayna Campbell, and Kathleen McLeod all had their runs in the ITA Central Regional Championships at Kalamazoo College come to a close on Saturday.

 

Having advanced to the round of 16 with a win on Friday morning, the duo of Alyssa Gulli and Alayna Campbell squared off against Hannah Houghland - who was ranked in the top 23 within the Central Region at the end of the 2021 season - and Alaina Kanthaphixay from North Central. The pair battled back from deficits in the match but ultimately fell in an 8-4 final to wrap up their tournament appearance.

 

Kathleen McLeod, meanwhile, faced Eleni Dakos from Kenyon - a squad ranked No. 1 in the Central Region at the conclusion of last season after the Ladies advanced to the NCAA Championship Semifinal round in May 2021. Dakos built leads early in both sets as McLeod came up on the short end of a 6-0, 6-1 final to conclude her tournament efforts.

 

The Belles open up dual-match competition on Friday, October 1 with a home contest against Judson starting at 3:00 p.m.
