Belles Close Out Florida Trip with Win Over Pacers

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Saint Mary's tennis team captured a 7-2 win over Marywood on Thursday morning to conclude their slate of competitions in Florida.
 
Kathleen McLeod and Nikki Rust were the first duo off the courts as the pair captured an 8-3 win at three doubles. Kalyn Borger and Meredith Heckert claimed an 8-4 victory at two doubles, and Alayna Campbell and Lucy Chamberlin outlasted their counterparts in an 8-6 one doubles final for the 3-0 team lead.
 
Rust made quick work of her six singles match as the senior won 6-1, 6-1. Campbell then clinched the team win with a 6-0, 6-1 decision at three singles. Chamberlin was a 6-2, 6-2 victor at one singles, and Kathleen McLeod took a decisive 6-1, 6-0 win at four singles. Katie Hunter battled in a 6-3, 6-2 setback at five singles. Meredith Heckert was on the cusp of forcing a tiebreaker at two singles but came up just short in a 6-2, 7-5 final.
 
The Belles (2-5) are back in action on Friday, March 18 when they travel to Concordia University Chicago for a 2:30 p.m. CDT match.
