NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Basketball sophomore
Ella Notaro (Crystal Lake, IL) was named Belles Athlete of the Week after her stellar performances at the Hanover Invitational last weekend.

Notaro helped lead the Belles to a tournament championship at the Hanover Invitational after taking home wins over Wilmington College, 81-71, and Hanover College, 88-80, in the championship game. The two wins improved Saint Mary's record to 4-1 on the season with their fourth straight victory. The win over the Panthers in the championship was significant as they ranked in the top 50 in the country in massey rating heading into the game.

Notaro averaged 15 points on the tournament including scoring a career high 17 in the comeback win over Wilmington. Notaro helped guide the Belles to scoring 55 points in the second half while outscoring the Quakers 24-9 in the third quarter.Â

She also finished the tournament shooting 52.6% (10-19) from the field and an impressive 81.8% (9-11) from the free throw line while also going a perfect 7-7 from the line against Hanover. Notaro grabbed 10 rebounds on the tournament with a season-high six against the Panthers.Â

Notaro and the Belles close out their road trip on Tuesday as they travel to take on Anderson University at 7pm before the Thanksgiving break. Saint Mary's returns with back-to-back home games to open MIAA play on December 3 and 6 as they host Calvin University and Hope College.
