NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary's College Tennis senior Alayna Campbell (Granger, IN), junior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH), and sophomores Anna Gardner (Houston, TX), and Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) were named College Sport Communicators Academic All-District for NCAA Division III. This is Campbell's third time winning the award and Kealy's second time while it is the first for Gardner and Pischalko.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Award, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale). They must have reached a sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution.
Campbell, the Nursing major and Biology minor, played in all 21 dual matches this season and finished the year with a 32-20 overall record. She would go 11-14 in singles play while posting a 9-11 record in dual match singles play while going 4-4 in conference. She would also post a 21-6 doubles record while her and Kealy would go 7-1 in conference play and win both of their matches in the MIAA Tournament. Campbell would be named to the All-MIAA Second Team while also earning the conference's prestigious Karen Caine Academic and Athletic Achievement Award. Campbell would finish her collegiate career with an incredible 118 wins, the most in program history since the arrival of current Head Coach Dale Campbell in 2008.
Kealy, the Nursing major, would compete in all 21 dual matches this season and finish the year with a 31-14 overall record. She would go 11-9 in singles play while going 5-3 in conference. She would also post a 20-5 doubles record while her and Campbell would go 7-1 in conference play and win both of their matches in the MIAA Tournament. Kealy was named to the All-MIAA Second Team for her performances.
Gardner, the Biology major and Art minor, would play in 20 dual matches this season and posted a 30-14 overall record. She would record a 16-8 record in singles play while posting a 13-6 record in dual matches and going 5-3 in conference. She would also post a 14-6 doubles record while going 4-4 in conference play.
Pischalko, the Accounting major, would compete in 19 dual matches this season and post an overall record of 28-16. She would go 14-7 in singles play while posting a 12-3 record in dual matches and a 4-3 record in conference. She would also post a 14-9 record in doubles while going 6-1 in conference play.
